The North American Schelling Society hosts a conference every other year in a different North American location. Each conference is organized around a broad theme aiming to further Schelling-related research. New submissions are always welcome.

The 8th Conference of the North American Schelling Society will be held May 22-25, 2024, at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. It will have "controversial Schelling" as its theme. It will feature presentations that, although sympathetic to F.W.J. Schelling’s thought, employ him to critique or broaden the canon, or to argue for claims that run contrary to canonical positions. Some papers will critique Schelling’s philosophy, or advance it beyond where he himself had taken it or beyond where the canonical view of Schelling takes it. We are also open to provocative and controversial, even scandalous arguments. As always, papers are also included that concern other themes in Schelling studies. Papers may be presented in English, French, German or Spanish.
